I am a hardcore gamer guy located in the United States. I started gaming when my parents bought a NES for my brother and me in 1988. As a kid, my favorite NES games included Dragon Warrior, Crystalis, Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest, Zelda II: The Adventures of Link, Ninja Gaiden, and of course, Super Mario Bros. 3.
I continued gaming in the 16-bit era with a SNES and Genesis, playing games like Chrono Trigger, Super Mario World, Street Fighter II Turbo, Illusion of Gaia, The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past, Breath of Fire, Sonic 2, Shining Force II, and Phantasy Star IV.
When Final Fantasy VII hit the playstation, I knew I had to get a playstation console. I really fell in love with videogames during this PS1 period, as the some of RPGs released for the PS1 rank as some of my favorite games of all time. These games include Final Fantasy VIII, Chrono Cross, Breath of Fire IV, Suikoden, Parasite Eve, Xenogears, Wild Arms, and of course, Final Fantasy VII. I also loved playing Revelations Persona, Alundra, Brave Fencer Mushashi, Breath of Fire III, Final Fantasy IX, and the 2 Lunar remakes.
Some of my favorite non-RPG PS1 games include Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Tekken 3, R4 Ridge Racer Type 4, Medal of Honor, Tekken 2, Tomba, PaRappa the Rapper, Metal Gear Solid, Tenchu, Duke Nukem: Time to Kill, Quake II, Resident Evil: Director’s Cut, Resident Evil 2, and Silent Hill.
My love affair with videogames continued with the purchase of a PS2, and my favorite PS2 games include Grand Theft Auto III, Persona 3 FES, Dragon Quest VIII, Black, Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Ratchet & Clank, Burnout 3, Suikoden III, and Kingdom Hearts I & II.
When I purchased a PS3 Slim in 2010, I would be introduced to the “trophy system” and little did I know that I would become extremely addicted to obtaining trophies. The next year I got an Xbox 360 S model, and I also play for Achievements.
Note: all the games that I discuss in this blog are either bought by me or given to me as a present from family/friends. In other words, I don’t get any “freebie” games from the game companies.
