In my last blog post, I said that I went to a Best Buy looking for videogames. Well, I ended up buying two PS3 games.
First I picked up Batman Arkham City: Game of the Year Edition. It was $19.99
I had been wanting to get this game for a long time. I didn’t know if it would ever drop to $20, but when it did, I knew it was time to get this game. This Game of the Year Edition includes all the DLC, and also has a free download of the animated movie Batman: Year One. The code for the movie download has expired though, but when I get to opening this game, I’ll go ahead and enter in the download code and see if I can still download the movie. Anyway, this GOTY edition dropped in price to $19.99 shortly after the code for the animated movie expired, and I wonder if that was a coincidence…
Next game I got is Dragon’s Dogma for $29.99
I bought this game before I knew that Capcom was coming out with Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, which includes an updated version of this game and an expansion. The updated version has some changes and improvements based on feedback from gamers and game reviewers.
So I’m not sure what to do with this original version of Dragon’s Dogma. I could return it to Best Buy, I could give or trade it to my brother or a friend… or I could keep it, open it, and play it. I have not made my decision yet.
A few days later, I was at a Meijer store. I saw that they had a Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning for PS3 for $19.99, so I bought it.
This is also a game that I had wanted to get for a while. I think I will like this one a lot. A few weeks back I had seen this game for $29.99 at a different Meijer store and I almost bought it for that price, since I wasn’t sure if it would ever drop to $20. So when I saw it for $19.99, I definitely had to pick it up.
On my way home I dropped by a Kmart and ending up buying three more PS3 games. All three games were on clearance.
First game I got is The Sly Collection. It was $14.97, which I thought was a great price for this game.
I do own Sly 1 on the PS2, and I have played and beaten it. I also own Sly 2 and 3 for PS2, but I have not played them. Some time ago I bought the Jak & Daxter Collection for PS3. Now I need to get the Ratchet and Clank Collection.
Second game I got from that Kmart is Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7. It was $9.97, and at that price I couldn’t pass it up.
The first Lego videogame I played was Lego Star Wars for PS2 many years ago. I liked it but a few years later I played Lego Batman for the Xbox 360 and liked that game even more. I have a few other Lego games including Lego Pirates of the Caribbean and Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4. I do plan on buying Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes pretty soon.
And I finally I picked up Deus Ex: Human Revolution. It was also $9.97
If you read my last “Videogame Shopping Trip Report” blog post, you’ll know that I already have this game, so I bought this particular copy for a friend.
